Who Wants to Rock?

The Perfect 5th Musical Arts Center, a new music learning center located on the Carlisle Pike in Mechanicsburg, will launch their latest educational music opportunity, a performance program called Rock the Stage. With four divisions designed for specific age groups, Rock the Stage will teach musicians and music lovers of all ages the necessary skills for communication, interaction, and music performance. Unlike other music programs, every student of Rock the Stage has the opportunity to perform on stage every week.

We Rock, the youngest division of the music center’s new Rock the Stage performance program, is set to begin on December 5, 2011 and run through February 25, 2012. Designed for children ages 2-4 and a caregiver, each session will consist of eleven 45-minute classes on weekday mornings or evenings. Using real microphones and rhythm instruments, children will begin to learn about tempo, rhythm, and basic microphone technique from an experienced musician, in an atmosphere that fosters cooperation, sharing, and creativity. They will have the opportunity to express themselves and learn on a real music performance stage with professional lighting. Through music, children learn the sounds and meanings of words, while they strengthen memory skills. A free pilot class of We Rock will be offered the week of November 28, 2011.
